How do I choose a lawn care company?
The same way you would choose an electrician, roofer, plumber or any service related business. Here are some guidelines to assist you in making your choice:
How do I know they will do the kind of job I require?
I can provide these and more if requested. If a company cannot this again shows a lack of professionalism and it will show throughout their entire service.
If not stay clear. This is a service industry and if someone lacks these it is not professional and how is their payroll service or accountant going to keep track of the federal taxes to be filed? We provide complete service agreements, invoices and work orders from one lawn service to complete landscape design and installation for your records and ours. |
Should I pick the biggest company?
Maybe. If they can provide the aforementioned requirements and give you a competitive price, why not. As you well know, just because a company is big or small does not mean you are going to get the best for less. We have definite goals and will provide a consistent lawn maintenance schedule, not a side job or supplemental income for us. TRU CUT LANDSCAPING is here to stay and we WILL set the standard for other companies to try and achieve! |
Does it matter how workers dress or look?
Yes! Proper clothing in good condition is an important safety consideration when working with machinery. |
Is attitude important?
Absolutely! If the company you choose seems to have unfriendly workers, this is a sign that the company has not provided correct training for their employees. A poor attitude is not acceptable and will not be tolerated at any time from any Tru Cut employee and can lead to termination of employment if displayed. |
Is having commercial equipment important?
This again is a personal decision. Some companies start small with residential equipment. The job can be done correctly with residential equipment. (I.E. non-commercial equipment). The reason commercial equipment is used is to improve ease of work, work time and durability. Tru Cut Lawn Care uses all commercial and top of the line equipment: Toro, John Deer, Lesco, Echo, Husqvarna, Triple Crown trailers and more. We invest in our corporation from the great pay, screening and training of our employees to spending large amounts on marketing and equipment. |
Does advertising or having a web site matter?
Yes and No. When a company spends a lot of money advertising they are really going to try their best to recoup that cost. It shows a willingness and commitment to the growth and investment in their company. |
Should I use a part time company?
Part time companies usually skip insurance and licensing to ’skim off the top’ of the industry. Some are good service providers but their commitment is in question because it is only a side job to them. They usually come and go and I do not recommend them at all. We are not, have not, or ever will be a part time lawn and landscaping provider. |
Are ruts or grooves made by lawn service equipment normal or acceptable?
No! This is not normal or acceptable and it destroys the beautiful and uniform appearance of your lawn and is very expensive to repair correctly. This happens when your lawn service uses oversized equipment for residential usage. All commercial equipment is not designed for residential lawns. We use smaller equipment for residential lawns to avoid this very common poor quality mistake. |
What price should I pay to have my lawn maintained?
This can and will vary. Check some or all of the aforementioned conditions and you will almost assuredly get a great service provider at a competitive price. Tru Cut will out price any licensed company and provide the best service obtainable—and we have plenty of references to prove it. |
